History

Canrea journal began its first publication on July 16 2018. In the first two-year publication (2018- 2019), this journal used Bahasa as the native language of Indonesia. The use of English started from 2020 onwards. Meanwhile, the implementation of the policies listed in the publication ethics and author guidelines began in volume 5 of issue 2 in 2022.

Canrea Journal uses a Gold open access business model which is fully sponsored and funded by Department of Food Science and Technology as a department in Universitas Hasanuddin focusing on education. Department of Food Science and Technology was established under the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, Indonesia. With an official license of establishment from Higher Education SK DIKTI No. 1789/D/T/2009 on 5 October 2009. Canrea Journal has been accredited as the SINTA 3 by the ministry of Science, Research, Technology, higher education of Indonesia (RISTEKDIKTI RI) with no.36/E/KPT/2019, valid until 2022.

Scopus, accepted on December 23 2021, (Article published from 16 July 2018 has been indexed).

"Canrea" comes from the regional language of Makassar "Kanreang" Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, which means anything that can be eaten (such as food, side dishes, cakes) that function in forming or replacing body tissue, providing energy, or regulates all processes in the body. We use this name with the hope that traditional food products in various countries can be recognized globally.

Canrea Journal is the first journal in Indonesia in the field of Food Science and Technology, which is one of the International Journals to facilitate scholars and researchers to publish their works, visions, and perspectives.
  1. From July 2018 until December 2019, Canrea Journal had no Article Processing Charge (APC) for those who would like to submit their works in open access. The style for the citation and reference format was in American Psychological Association 7th edition (APA style). In addition, Since July 2018, we have become a member of Crossref.
  2. Since July 2020 until now, Canrea Journal established an Article Processing Charge (APC) to maintain the website, the server, and open access. In addition, the style for citation and reference format was changed to Vancouver Style.
  3. On November 25 2021, Canrea Journal was successfully submitted to Scopus and retrieved on December 23 2021.
