Principles of Transparency

Canrea Journal fully adheres to the ethical guidelines for research and publication described in the Guidelines on Good Publication (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines)  and Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

Canrea Journal: Food Technology, Nutrition, and Culinary Journal with initial name Canrea Journal is a unique name. No one will be easily confused with another journal, or that may mislead potential authors and readers about Canrea Journal’s origin or association with other journals.
The journal website is highly maintained for security aspects that help protect users from viruses and malware.  The text and web content are highly ensured to demonstrate high ethical and professional standards. No information may mislead readers or authors, including any attempt to mimic another journal/publisher’s site. Acknowledgment is declared or linked if any text is copied from another website or source. Focus and scope are included on the Canrea Journal website, and its readership is clearly defined. Statements on what this journal will consider for publication, including authorship criteria (e.g., not considering multiple submissions or redundant publications), are also clearly displayed in the publication ethics. The journal’s ISSN is clearly shown (both on the website as well as on each article published).
Canrea Journal publishes one volume per year (with two issues per volume). The issues are usually published in June and December.
Digital archive
Canrea Journal is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research and to ensure accessibility by converting and upgrading digital file formats to comply with the newest technology standards. We work in partnership with organizations as well as maintaining our own digital archive.

Local Archive
Canrea Journal maintains a local state-of-the-art facility to store a complete, accurate digital version of paper published. The current format standards pdf; with most files being retained in both formats. Website archiving All of Canrea electronic content (website, manuscripts, etc.) is stored on three different sources. Content on one server is online and accessible to the readers. The copy of the same content is kept as a backup on two other sources. In case of failure of one server, any one of the other sources can be made online and website expected to be accessible within 24-36 hours.

Self-archiving
Canrea Journals support self-archiving. Canrea journal permit and encourages authors to make their research visible and accessible to the peers by uploading the final published version of their articles in personal or institutional repositories immediately after publication, while providing bibliographic details that credit, if applicable, its publication in the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

The policy for copyright is clearly stated on the journal's website. Canrea Journal, its website, and the articles published therein are licensed under CC BY 4.0. The copyright holder is also named on all published articles (both HTML and PDF). It is noteworthy that authors retain unrestricted copyright and publishing rights. They are also permitted to archive the article submitted, accepted, and the publisher’s versions. This is clearly stated in the copyright notice.

Canrea journal has a detailed publication ethics policy, which is clearly visible on its website. Editors are committed to taking reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication. In no case shall Canrea Journal or its editors encourage such misconduct or knowingly allow it to occur. In that case, the publisher or editors are committed to following publication ethics in dealing with allegations.
The reviewing process will take into account the novelness, objectivity, methodology, scientific impact, conclusion, and references. Reviewer feedback will be forwarded to the relevant author for any necessary actions or answers. Based on the reviewer's suggestion, the editorial board will consider the reviewer's opinion before sending the corresponding author the final decision about the submission. The way in which the journal and individual articles are fully open access to readers is clearly stated.
Department of Food Science and Technology at Universitas Hasanuddin, Indonesia, is the only publisher, owner, and supporter of Canrea Journal, and it manages the publication entirely.  There is no misleading information about the nature of the journal’s owner.
Canrea Journal  has an editorial board whose members are recognized experts in the subject areas included within the journal’s scope. The full names and affiliations of the editorial board are provided on the journal’s website. The editorial board members are updated periodically.
Canrea Journal provides the full names and affiliations of the journal’s editors on the journal website as well as contact information for the editorial office, including a full address (Jln. Perintis Kemerdekaan, Makassar, Indonesia, 90245).
Canrea Journal charges authors fees for Article Processing Charge (APC), which is stated clearly on the website.
Canrea Journal uses a Gold open access business model. It should be noted that publishing fees or waiver status does not influence editorial decision-making. If the research involves confidential data and of business/marketing practices, authors should clearly justify this matter whether the data or information will be hidden securely or not.
Canrea Journal is fully sponsored, funded, and owned by Department of Food Science and Technology as a department in Universitas Hasanuddin focusing on education. Department of Food Science and Technology was established under Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, Indonesia. With an official license of establishment from Higher Education SK DIKTI No. 1789/D/T/2009 on 5 October 2009.
